Tickle, Tickle, Tickle

You know when you have that realization that your baby really understands what's happening even though he can't necessarily say it? We had one of those today it was just so sweet.

Our almost 16 month old was sitting on the floor and my husband was tickling him and said, "tickle, tickle, tickle." Out of nowhere the baby looks back at him and says, "tickle, tickle, tickle." It was very exciting for us. My four-year-old was in complete shock! He kept saying, (the baby) can talk!

Then, during his bath, I tickled him when he got out and.. you guessed it.. he said, "tickle, tickle, tickle."

That made my weekend special. How about you?

That's sweet! It makes me wish my 7 year old was a little younger again. It's always exciting when they learn new things. How cute that your older is son enjoying it also! That's one of those things you'll need to get on video, those little voices never come back.

That's a cute story and I can relate. I have a 10 month old and everyday she lights up my day. Milestone wise, she stood by herself (but she didn't realize it) this weekend. But a million more time, she made me smile just by being her cute little self. :)

Watching kids learn and understand language is fascinating! My (just turned) 3-year old told me in the car this morning that - quote - "I use my manners when I fight with my friends." I'm so proud :) I think a lesson on the meaning of "manners" is in our near future!

I tried to get the baby to do it again this morning and "good, good, good" is the only that came out! I will have to get out the video camera and cross my fingers I can get him to do it again. It is so funny!

And I love it when they stand and just look around, like "What's going on here? Is this right?"

And Jolie, that cracks me up! He is learning some good lessons. I have decided I can no longer prevent my kids from fighting. Maybe your little one is on to something, "fighting with manners" sounds pretty good to me.

How cute! My son is a little over two and has delayed speech, so whenever he says something new, I'm sooo excited! Although his latest, "no mama", is not really one I like to hear!! :)

My oldest had a speech delay and I think that's why we were so excited when the younger said tickle. We didn't expect him to be able to say that until he was three!

Oh, that's so sweet! I miss the days when my kids were littler. At 13 and 14 the milestones are different. My son got "hit on" at the fair (according to his chatty friend) by a girl. Ugh. It was one moment that I was glad he's a little immature for his age, because when I asked his friend "What did he do?" the friend responded "Ran away."
