Baseball/T-Ball Injuries

This summer is our first experience with t-ball. Because of my crazy schedule, I don't get to see a whole lot of games. But I get the run-down from my husband. Oh my! It's definitely a learning experience. My son says it's boring so we have been trying to talk it up. It probably is boring at that age. There is a lot of waiting for kids to figure out what they're doing. Some of them don't even know when to run the bases. I hope he looks forward to going to the games before the season is over! Either way, here's some good news about baseball!

One place that does appear to be safe for most kids -- a baseball diamond. A review of data at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus finds the number of youth baseball-related injuries requiring a trip to the ER fell 25-percent between 1994 and 2006. Researchers say mouth guards and helmets with face shields can help cut down on injuries.
