2-year old Drowns

This is so awful! I am petrified about taking all three of my kids to the pool this summer. I will never have a pool in my backyard. It just makes me nervous and for good reason!

A two-year-old boy is dead after being pulled from the Vermilion River in Pontiac.

The Livingston County Coroner says Xander Coffey was playing near the river with other family members when he apparently fell in late yesterday afternoon.
Police were called to the river at the south end of Lyons Street shortly before five o'clock Tuesday. That's where they found loved ones tending to the unresponsive boy.
Coroner Mike Burke says it's not known exactly how long the child was in the water, but preliminary autopsy results show Coffey's cause of death is drowning.
