FROM NBC: Health officials say clinical trials of the HINI vaccine in children are producing the same positive results as adult studies. The latest data show children age 10 to 17 developed a strong immune response after receiving *one* dose of the vaccine.
Children age six months to nine years will likely need two doses, similar to the seasonal vaccine. These results apply to both the inactivated vaccine, given as an injection, and the live virus vaccine, administered as a nasal spray.
Researchers have not seen any significant side effects linked to the shot. They are encouraging parents to have their children vaccinated against the seasonal flu now... as some kids may need four flu shots this year.
Are you planning on giving your kids the HINI vaccine?
