Is there a connection between infertility and heart disease? New research says that may be the case. Men who don't have children are more likely to die from cardiovascular disease. I didn't see anything in the study about men who adopt children. Would that make a difference? Maybe men with kids are more likely to take care of their bodies? What do you think?
FROM NBC: A new study suggests fatherhood could help prolong a man's life! Researchers at Stanford University tracked 135-thousand healthy, married men over a 10 year period.
They found childless men were 17-percent more likely to die from cardiovascular disease compared to fathers.
Although they don't know if the men in study intended to have children, researchers say there could be a similar biological cause behind infertility and heart disease. Other studies suggest testosterone levels are linked to both fertility and cardiovascular risk while other experts believe fatherhood leads to overall healthier behaviors.
