My one-year-old put it in a dresser drawer underneath the clothes. Who says one-year-olds aren't old enough to be sneaky? Months ago, I tore up my house looking for the rotting, stinky thing. I am so thrilled to have it in the garbage.
The little one saw it and reached for it when my husband handed it to me. Phew! If he had remembered where he stashed it, he surely would have taken a drink. Yuck! Or as he would say Guck!

Fortunately, to date, my son only hides things like... my hairbrush... and the phone. His sippy only ever has water in it though, so that helps immensely.
ReplyDeleteoh wow!! that is much worse than the ones my son toss under the car seat!! glad you finally found it!! :)
ReplyDeleteI think I would miss a hair brush worse! Is that bad to say?
ReplyDeleteNot if you only have one hairbrush (like I do).
ReplyDeleteSo you did find it somewhere you hadn't thought of looking before!
ReplyDeleteThat must have been one
heck of a sealed cup not to let that stench out. YUK!
Yikes, we had a souvenier like that one in the car, couldn't figure out what was creating the smell. Now we find fossilized nuggets and french fries. Funny how they don't decompose..
ReplyDeleteLynn, I tell you what. He is a crafty little kid. The drawers in that dresser are so hard to open, we hardly ever use it.
ReplyDeleteAnd David, I do have some old crackers in the car. They really don't decompose. They just sit there forever, I guess.
Mine hides the ba ba in the ball pit LOL
