For many couples, the next thing after getting married is starting a family. Now, a new study shows having sex everyday may give couples the best shot at getting pregnant, especially if the man has damaged sperm.
Researchers in Australia told more than 100men with DNA damaged sperm to have sex for a week straight. They found after 7 days, over 80% of men saw a significant improvement in their sperm's DNA quality. However, researchers have not tested whether that actually lead to more pregnancies.
81% of men saw a 12% improvement in sperm quality. 19% of men saw a decrease in sperm quality. Though frequent ejaculation decreased semen volume and sperm concentrations, it slightly increased sperm motility.
We did not abide by these "everyday" rules to have kids. I got pregnant with my first the first month! For the second and third, it took about 5-6 months. How long did it take you to get pregnant?

I have been trying to get pregnant for over 7 years now. My husband and I have tried many different ways and none have worked.
It took us a little over a month. He had just gotten out of the military so I guess you could say that we were doing the everyday method.
My heart goes out to the one who has spent years trying. It's sad when people who want kids have trouble and others are popping out five and six kids by different fathers. It took seven months with both of my kids. I got pregnant quickly and unexpectedly two other times but lost both of those in between my two boys. We're done now.
2 yrs ago, my boyfried and I wanted another baby and after trying for 4 mos. I got pregnant, that was after I quit birth control for almost 3 mos. We didn't have sex every day but didn't take long to get pregnant.
All 3 of my kids were conceived with measures against that situation. I am a statistic with birth control, 2 kids both on different pills. the 3rd child conceived despite a condom. I am resulting to the "do not touch" method. LOL
We use NFP and knew exactly when to try.
For our first born, it was the 2nd month of trying. Deep down I have a feeling I was pregnant the month before but we were camping and I did water ski and knee board quite many wipeouts, I think I might have caused myself to miscarry, but I'll never know for sure.
With our 2nd, we pretty much conceived the first month we were trying.
My heart goes out to anyone who tries for years without any success. If I could, I'd be a surrogate (although I haven't talked to hubby about this)
2nd month with #1, 1-year with #2 (2-mc in that year)
Once we officially started trying to conceive, we had six months of using a ClearBlue Easy fertility monitor, I took my temp every morning and charted using an online site. I'm in my 30s and my doctor had me scheduled for an HSG but I got the word "Pregnant" on a pregnancy test instead.
I have friends who tried to get pregnant for several years, had success with IVF and then got pregnant on their own shortly after. This has been the case for three separate friends.
Doctors told one friend there was no way she would ever be a mom. She now has two beautiful children -- one thanks to IVF and the second she conceived naturally without even trying. I'll never forget her excitement and surprise!
I got pregnant with my first on the 2nd month of trying. The second took a year...but considering it turned out to be twins I say thank you God to that!!! hee hee!

P.S. hopefully this isn't tmi, lol...but for those of you still trying - make sure to try different,um, positions! If you have a tipped uterus (even slightly, like me) then you can't get pregnant using the ol missionary standby even if you stand on your head for an hour after to let gravity help the sperm! ;)
